Description
The “Tinker” 3s this past March were met with immediate success. A crowning release subsequently followed by a collaborative Justin Timberlake pair, saw much of its triumph hinged upon pure intrigue of a shoe foreign from the one we’ve known for 30 years. Now Swoosh branded with slightly varied paneling meant we were dealing with an entirely different shoe. Somewhat in opposition of that newness, the Air Jordan 6 “Tinker” is not a new shoe at all.
A traditional Air Jordan 6 through and through — like all pairs of the 1991 released sneaker — Tinker’s iteration is seen through the eyes of a familiar colorway that found fame on the Air Trainer SC High II. Colored in a primarily white base with soft grey underlays, much of this canvas is coated in premium leather while its midsole enters the fold in varying shades over a translucent outer. Red tongue construction ignites this time-honored style in which Michael Jordan won his first NBA championship. Darker tones with Infrared accents atop an icy outsole completes the design.
When did the Air Jordan 6 release?
Second to the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 6 is still to this day one of the most popular silhouettes within the line-up.
Originally released in 1991 and it soon followed MJ into his first NBA Championship, the Air Jordan 6 was designed by Tinker Hatfield. They feature a visible Air unit in the heel as well as a translucent outsole, a molded back heel tab and set of lace locks.
The history behind the Air Jordan 6 is the reason why I love it so much. To me, the shoe will always be iconic as it was worn by Michael Jordan himself en route to his first NBA title.
Comfort:
The Air Jordan 6 may be one of the more uncomfortable retros in the Air Jordan line, I’ve always found them to be very firm underfoot, but the biggest pro of the silhouette is that they’re wide-foot friendly — something that I appreciate.
Fit:
Sizing wise, they fit relatively true to size. Some will get away with going half a size down because the sneaker has a roomy toe box.
Care:
Depending on the materials of the shoe, I care for my Air Jordan 6 sneakers the same way I would care for any other shoe. For suede or nubuck uppers, I use suede brushes and scrub the midsoles and outsoles with a standard shoe cleaning product.

It’s classic model. This colorway is low-pitched. Good fitness. The anti-rollover performance is also good. The sole of AJ6 is a little stiff. But the appearance is good-looking, so it’s not a big problem. I still like them. It should need time to break-in. The size is standard. I choose the original size.
