What does SB mean in Nike SB Dunk Low?

Nike Skateboarding, primarily known as Nike SB, is the Nike brand for its line of shoes, clothing, and equipment for skateboarding.

Why are SB dunks so popular?

By the mid-’90s, the Nike Dunk had become a cult favorite amongst the skateboarding community, thanks to its superior cushioning, support and traction

Are dunks or SB dunks more comfortable?

Are Dunks Or SB Dunks More Comfortable? An older SB Dunk can be more comfortable than a regular (non-SB) Dunk. Modern Dunk and SB Dunk releases tend to be stiffer right out of the box. As such, modern regular Dunks are more accommodating than their SB counterparts

Dunk vs SB Dunk: What’s the Difference Between the Sneakers?

The most noticeable difference between the two sneakers are their tongues. On the Nike Dunk, you get a slim, mesh tongue. On the SB Dunk, the tongue has been beefed up to provide more cushion and protection. By being thicker, the tongue helps with the fit as well. It enables the sneaker to mold to your feet, preventing any slipping or wiggling. The tongue is held down with elastic straps which provide an added layer of lockdown. As a bonus, it allows you to slip the SB Dunk on and off without having to mess with finicky laces.

Making their way to accounts now but officially part of Nike SB’s September 2011 collection is this pair of Nike SB Dunk High, which have been dubbed the “Plum”. The shoe is built from nubuck, and sports a two-tone design consisting of light and dark purple hues, which are contrasting by red accents on the tongue tag, shoe laces, Nike swoosh, and outsole. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a colorway this clean with such great execution on the material selection, so hats off to Nike SB for this one.

The Diamond Supply Co. x Nike SB Dunk Low Pro White Diamond is a collaboration between Nike and Diamond Supply Co. This iconic shoe features a white colorway, with a sleek and stylish design.

Luxury croc leather adorns uppers, and the chrome Velcro swooshes can be pulled off to reveal Diamond’s signature blue hues underneath on the midfoot and heel. A signature Diamond outline logo appears on the tongue, and each shoe is completed with an extra pair of metal-tipped teal laces for a final premium touch. Additional details include velcro Swooshes with Tiffany blue underneath the White Swoosh, special chrome Diamond branded lace tips, and a translucent outsole. The Swoosh is velcroed on the wall and you can pop it off to flaunt a teal Swoosh. Finally an icy translucent sole finishes off the overall look of this classic sneaker.

Official imagery of the Nike SB Dunk Low “St. Patrick’s Day” are unveiled as the model is expected to arrive soon in celebration of the Feast of Saint Patrick, a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17.

From a palette standpoint, this forthcoming installment is very similar to the Nike SB Dunk High “St. Patty’s Day” variation that released in 2013, but it features various adjustments in materials that allow it to stand on its own.

Most of the base layer is constructed with a smooth suede green and comes submerged in a bold, shamrock-inspired green. Metallic gold accents follow suit as they dress up the traditional Nike branding on the fat tongues and heels as well as the Swooshes on the lateral and medial walls.

Finally, a four-leaf clover embroidered on the lateral heel, followed by a white midsole and gum rubber outsole tops off the design.

Renaissance is defined as a “revival of or renewed interest in something.” Based on this definition, then it’s fair to say that over recent months the sneaker community has witnessed a renaissance and steady regrowth of the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro, the iconic early-2000s skateboard sneaker made famous by Sandy Bodecker, a skateboarding legend and Nike visionary who passed away last year.

The Nike Dunk has once again received additional publicity earlier this month when Jeff Ng aka Jeff Staple debuted a limited-edition “Panda Pigeon” Dunk, the latest installment in his legendary and timeless Pigeon Dunk line — a series nearly 15 years in the making.

Jeff Ng, Graphic Designer and creator of Reed Space, sought to create a sneaker that truly embodied the spirit and soul of New York City. Having already been a part of a couple Nike collaborations including the Nike Shox Navigation pack, Jeff sought to create a sneaker work of art that would strongly resonate with NYC residents while at the same time buck the trend of the standard or traditional NYC design cues, elements, and symbols including the Yankees, Empire State Building, or the Statue of Liberty.

Instead, he opted to model his newest collaboration after a pesky, stubborn, brash, hungry, relentless, annoying, dirty, yet highly respected bird indigenous that has absolutely no fear: the pigeon.

On a cold winter morning at Reed Space in the Lower East Side of Manhattan nearly 15 years ago, the sneaker world was completely turned upside down when the Pigeon Dunk released at Reed Space, a sneaker which immediately became synonymous with New York City among sneakerheads and enthusiasts.

Met with extreme hype and hysteria, the sneaker gained notoriety among local news channels for the strong police presence and rioting that took place surrounding its release including being featured on CBS News and on the front page of the New York Post the following morning.
The shoe was made to closely resemble the angry bird and included a high-quality grey suede upper, orange outsole, and an iconic embroidered pigeon logo along the lateral aspect.

concerns Jeff’s personal pair which had the number “00/30” lasered into the medial aspect of each shoe, further adding to their allure and mythical status within the sneaker community and within society’s mainstream as well.

This offering of the Nike SB Dunk Low comes constructed in a mix of materials featuring a canvas base with leather overlays.Highlighting the shoe are floral embroidered prints on the Black overlays and insoles.

A colourful array of flowers and birds decorate the black panelling on the shoe, while the rest of the materials are formed from what appears to be a hemp canvas. An overlocking stitch pattern gives the pair a hand-made aesthetic, a narrative that is played into by the colourful embroidery and rustic construction. The N7 logo appears at the heel and on the decorative insoles, while a white canvas makes up the underlay and tongue.
