Uppers are made from a a vivid red suede that gives the shoe its moniker, with a slight cooling touch provided by black eyestays plus translucent midfoot netting and throats. Another key piece of the “Raging Bull” is its hi-vis reflective tongue, embroidered with a large black Jumpman logo.

Lace toggles and Jumpman-branded tongues maintain their inaugural construction, with the latter boasting the reflective finish that made Tinker Hatfield’s creation an instant-attention-grabber in 1990.

Down below, midsoles are presented in black with toothed white and red detailing towards the forefoot and a clear Air Max unit at the heel.

Embroidered “23” detailing on the lateral heel are barely discernible given its surrounding’s tonal red arrangement, but it complements the makeup found throughout the sole unit, which now boasts icy tread to combat the yellowing that plagued the original pair.

A familiar box with wood board print supplies one final callback to the original release.

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the Jordan 5, 7.5 in terms of comfort. The Jordan 5 silhouette may be heavy, but they’re extremely soft inside, and the tongue is thick and cushiony. For this reason, I would recommend them for those long days when you’re constantly on your feet.

How do you care for Air Jordan 5s?

The Air Jordan 5 is made from nubuck leather; to keep them clean, I spray them with a sneaker protector before wearing them outside. After wearing them, I remove any dirt using a nubuck brush and return them to their original box, mainly so they don’t get dusty.
