Part of the Jordan Brand Spring 2021 Retro Footwear Collection, this release offers a twist on the Air Jordan 1 Gold Toe, switching out the patent gold from that model for “crinkle” silver — inspired by space innovation and the future of flight.

The “Metallic Silver” leather that gives this colorway its name is present on the toebox, heel and collar flaps. The rest of the upper’s build is somewhat simple, with white gracing the quarter panel and black appearing on the mudguard, eyestays, Swooshes and collar.

“NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue label indulge in a dull shade of the retro’s titular tone, while simultaneously denoting the drop as a Jordan 1 Retro High OG, a trim close to the one from 1985.

Underfoot, the Nike Dunk-reminiscent sole unit partakes in a tried-and-proven “yin-and-yang” color scheme, while the accompanying hang-tag further delivers on the “Metallic Silver” style.

Product history. The first Air Jordan was produced for use by Michael Jordan. They were designed by Peter B. Moore, and released during Jordan’s sophomore season with the Chicago Bulls. The Jordan 1 Royal was never worn by Michael Jordan on an NBA court.
