The Tatum 2 as its lightest signature performance shoe, the silhouette features a low-cut design that combines foam and textile pods for stability for multidirectional movement. The sneaker was debuted on-court on Christmas Day by Tatum in the Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers match-up.

The shoe features Tatum-themed branding throughout, with hidden details such as quotes, “Like Father, Like Son,” a nod to his relationship with his son, Deuce. On his new signature shoe, Tatum said in a statement, “You always want to be better than you were and constantly improve, so I hope the consumer feels and appreciates how much we put into this one. For me, it represents evolution and how much I’ve grown through this process.”

The “Momma’s Boy” colorway will release first and features a white canvas upper with outlines of lilies throughout and volt accents to highlight the “JT” branding on the tongue and the midsole. The “Vortex” pair features a mint foam like colorway seen throughout the mesh upper while additional accents of lava glow and jade-key lime are seen on the midsole.

Jayson Tatum’s second signature shoe, the Tatum 2, is rooted in the motion and emotion that drives Jordan Brand’s approach to basketball shoe design. The Tatum 2 is designed specifically for the All-League forward’s game and for the needs of the next-up athlete who’s inspired to play like him.

“One quality that Tatum deserves a ton of credit for is his durability,” says Derek Foster, Senior Product Line Manager at Jordan Brand. Foster describes Tatum’s consistency at the top of the league in both games and minutes played as one of his most important traits. This is why the Tatum 2 is made with a full-length Nike Air Strobel unit, which helps cushion impact from explosive movements. Set against a bold look that is meant to project Tatum’s deep inner confidence, the Tatum 2 reflects his effortless playing style on the court as well as his effortless sense of style off the court.

“That’s what the Air Strobel does so well. The smooth heel-to-toe transition is also a key feature of the Air Strobel, which fits with Jayson’s priority to wear a shoe that moves as one with his foot.”

The upper features a series of large foam and textile pods, which are strategically placed around areas of the foot that experience high pressure when playing basketball. The foam frame that surrounds the pods wrap high, helping stabilize the foot during multidirectional movement without limiting mobility or feel.

Underfoot, the outsole, which features a modified herringbone traction pattern, is reductive in weight but with more coverage areas where athletes need it most. The Tatum line remains the lightest in the Jordan Brand performance portfolio.

The Tatum 2 as its lightest signature performance shoe, the silhouette features a low-cut design that combines foam and textile pods for stability for multidirectional movement.
