Description

The Jordan 11 Bred is one of the most iconic Jordan 11 colourways.First released in 1996, then retro iterations followed in 2001, 2008 (the CDP package), 2012, and now in 2019 – complete with the “remastered” shape that aims to keep the total package as true to the original.

Arriving in the iconic black and red colour palette that we all know and love, the “Bred” features a ballistic nylon and patent leather construction that has definitely stood the test of time. A series of ribbons along the side form the model’s iconic shape, while a striking red Jumpman is embroidered around the back. The “23” also returns to the heel, although some speculated early on that “45” could possibly be the jersey number to be featured on the shoes.

A high cut construction provides sneakerheads with added support and stability, and down below, the signature Nike Air midsole is present, lined with a bright red rubber outsole for durable traction that’s made for both city streets and basketball courts.

What does Air Jordan bred mean?

The term “Bred” is a nickname used for Air Jordan colorways where black and red are the dominant colors. “Black” + “Red” = “Bred”. Much like the UNC and Cement colorways, the Bred colorway is one of the most valuable colorways in the Air Jordan line.

The Bred colorway is one of the most sought-after colorways that the Jordan Brand has to offer. It’s proven that regardless of the silhouette, Bred Jordans hold their value.

Who created Jordan 11?

The Air Jordan 11 is a legendary Tinker Hatfield-designed sneaker that stands out as both the favorite of Jordan himself and the sneaker designer. Originally released in 1995, the Air Jordan 11 shoes made NBA history during Michael Jordan’s legendary 72-10 season with the Bulls. The Air Jordan XI is one of the most popular Air Jordans in the series and is Hatfield’s favorite.

How much do Jordan 11s weigh?

16.5 ounces which is half an ounce more than the X which I wrote about last week. I can almost guarantee people will say it doesn’t feel heavy while they say the X does.

Pros: SEXY, traction when clean, cushioning, fit, stability, containment

Cons: traction gets iffy when rubber gets harder/older and can get slick on dusty floors, cushioning could be updated but not needed, carbon fiber makes shoe stiffer than newer shoes

The Retro Bred model is classic one. The patent leather looks nice, it's also easy to clean. It also has carbon plate. Great workmanship. I believe that it will stay with me for a few years.
